Bono's Charity Work
Bono helped get Africa $25 billion to help cure AIDS. In 2005 Bono went to a three-day summit for government representative to talk about world problems. This is where he got the Group of Eight to double the African aid to $50 billion.
In 2005, Bono shared the honor of Person of the Year with Bill and Melinda Gates. The Gateses started the well-funded charity, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which helped Bono launch DATA. Together they helped get well-run medical programs meant to help the poorest African citizens. Their efforts helped reduce deaths from tuberculosis, AIDS, malaria, and complications in pregnancy, hundreds of thousands of people owe their lives to these people. Bono has achieved amazing results by asking everyone from average citizens to world leaders to join his cause to end poverty.
Bono is very religious; he was born into a Christian family, and carried it with him through his work to find a cure for AIDS. He is caring because he took time and effort to help end poverty in unselfish ways. He is very musical, too, for he is a very talented singer, which he used for good. He sang and Live Aid which helps people in poverty.
